Charles E.  Jacobina
Charles Edward Jacobina, 92, of Greensburg, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018. He was born Aug. 1, 1925, in Latrobe, son of Frank and Giovanna (Ramella) Jacobina. Charles served in the Army during World War II, present at the Battle of the Bulge, and was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He was the first of his family to attend college, graduating from the University of Pittsburgh. Before his retirement, he worked as a research chemist, securing several patents. From his childhood, he loved classic American cinema. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Victorine "Vickie" (Boyle) Jacobina; and sisters, Mary, Peg and Jake; and brothers, Henry and Albert. He is survived by his son, Mark and his husband; his sister, Joann; and several nieces, nephews, and godchildren. There will be no public visitation. Service and interment will be private.
