Shirley E.  Clark
Shirley Esther (Close) Clark, 82, of Greensburg, passed peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, July 5. Her three surviving children and their families will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by the love of her life Charles E. Clark, Sr. and daughter, Cynthia Ann (Clark) Billings. Shirley has been a member of the Church of Christ of Hempfield Township for the past 45 years. She loved attending services and church events and studying the Bible. She recently said in reference to her declining physical condition, “When I die, I know I’ll be able to walk with the Lord.” Shirley enjoyed being the Treasurer of the Greater Greensburg Senior Citizens Center and liked attending events at the Bullskin Township Senior Center. Shirley loved to play cards and board games with friends. She also loved to go out to dinner with family and friends. Shirley is survived by children, Charles E. Clark, Jr. of Greensburg, Richard Clark and Jon Scalzitti of Pittsburgh, and Brenda (Clark) Thoma and Bob Thoma of Penn. She was very proud of her 5 grandchildren, Brian, Matthew, Laura, Kim and Brandon and her great grandchildren.
