Obituary for Donald O. Bridges Jr.

Donald O.  Bridges Jr.
Donald O. Bridges, Jr., 74, of Greensburg, died Saturday, April 28, 2018. He was born October 22, 1943, in Connellsville, a son of the late Donald O. and Bernice Smith Bridges, Sr. He served in the National Guard. Prior to retirement, Don was an accountant for Export Tire. He was a member of Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church, Greensburg, where he had served as an usher and Sunday school teacher. He enjoyed traveling and model railroading. He was active in the 44th Bomb Group annual reunions. He is survived by his wife, Carole J. Harman Bridges; a son, Derek (Amber) Bridges, of Philadelphia; a brother, Kenneth Robert (Michele) Bridges, of Lower Burrell; a sister, Nancy Gail (Deb Muir) Bridges, of Greensburg; and a nephew, Robert (Jillian Ma) Bridges, of San Mateo, Calif. Family and friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 501 Fairfield Dr., Greensburg. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Greensburg-Hempfield Area Library, 237 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Greensburg, PA 15601, or to the Army Heritage Center Foundation, 950 Soldiers Dr., Carlisle, Pa. 17013.
